Starting next week I will be in my third semester of my bachelor studies in AI/ML. This semester will be the last semester where I have assessment courses, this means I can sign up for more interesting courses in the 4th semester.
One of these courses is IOT and SIOT. Which features:
“Secure Internet of Things (SIOT)” course covers knowledge in building secure IoT systems, technologies, and real-world applications. In this hands-on course, students will gain practical experience with IoT prototypes using popular IoT platforms, security technologies and testing tools, secure IoT devices. They will conduct end- to-end security attacks and assessments to IoT systems to demonstrate vulnerabilities. Practical knowledge andunderstanding leads to the ability to recommend thread mitigation measures to minimize the risk in IoT solutions and networks. This course is targeted at students who are already familiar with basics on systems programming, networking fundamentals and wish to dive into the IoT end-to-end security aspects towards technologies that transform businesses and peoples’ lives.
This leads me to read up a bit on IOT and C programming in advance. I do have quite a few esp32 controllers to mess around with already so that will be a nice starting point.
For programming itself I do want to pick up the discord bot again and actually make some progress with it. Right now I am stuck at designing it correctly for what I want it to do. I will try to program more small things on the side to accumulate more experience.
On the homelab side I want to get more into ansible and other devops practices so I can gain some hands on experience for the RHCE exam.
I also want to document this journey somehow, with specific blog posts and a wiki/knowledge base with more technical aspects. There are some interesting solutions that I will try out but I will most likely go towards a markdown based static site generator aka mkdocs/docusaurus.
